The Parable of the sower cover was a redesign of the original book. I wanted the book cover to reflect the characters as well as the content of the book. Therefore I used a girl and fire to represent the main character Lauren Olamina, and fire to represent the chaos and destruction of the city.
DESIGN CHALLENGES
Some struggles that I faced were designing the cover. Initially I illustrated the cover in procreate, the design didn’t work, so I designed the cover in photoshop which I completed the project in photoshop.
LOW FIDELITY
The low fidelity sketches were planned to reflect the contents of the book. The imagery of the house or the fire represented the village that the character (Lauren) once knew, which later turned into flames due to the rapid amount of crime, and chaos.
